PCA Promotes Lent

Dear Friends, Here is the link: http://sites.silaspartners.com/partner/Article_Display_Page/0,,PTID323422|CHID664014|CIID1955008,00.html Wheatley writes: "Fueled by a desire to encounter God with
the heart along with the head, many have rediscovered our rich Christian tradition
in meditation, journaling, quiet and retreat. Repentance, now that's another
story.... Lent however brings repentance in from the cold and seats it at the
head of the table.... This Lent reflect on the wonder of our Saviour...." If the marks of a true church are the preaching of the Gospel
of Jesus Christ, the proper administration of the sacraments, and church discipline,
where does that leave the PCA? It is riddled with heresies and heretics who,
far from being rebuked for their errors, have their errors published in denominational
publications. John Robbins P. S. Shortly after we sent this Horror File to our email list,
someone took the article to which it refers off the byFaith Online website.
We hope that this is a sign that someone in the PCA has both spiritual discernment
and courage to act.
In its denominational magazine, byFaith Online, the Presbyterian Church in America
(PCA), which professes to believe the Westminster Confession of Faith, published
an essay by Sam Wheatley, a PCA pastor in Salt Lake City, Utah, advocating the
observance of Lent.
